The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) has invited 148 Express Entry candidates to apply for nomination in their most recent draw. The CRS score of the lowest ranking candidate was 300.
Invitees must subsequently apply to Alberta for nomination; successful nominees will then receive an additional 600 points toward their Express Entry profile. As a result of these additional points, nominees are essentially guaranteed to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence.
How can I be eligible for Alberta’s Express Entry draws?
Alberta Express Entry is one stream of the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), a Provincial Nominee Program operated by the province of Alberta. The Alberta Express Entry stream selects candidates from the federal Express Entry pool and invites them to apply for nomination. This stream does not target candidates with a CRS score below 300. Alberta’s Express Entry stream does not release additional details of their draws, but have identified that the following factors may increase a candidate’s chances:
- Working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification;
- A qualifying relative that is a permanent resident or citizen living in Alberta;
- A job offer or work experience in Alberta; and
- Graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution
