British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invites 428 candidates to apply in their most recent draw on September 1, 2020. The draw excludes 31 occupations related to tourism as the industry is particularly hard hit by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and associated travel restrictions.
September 1 BC PNP draw
The September 1, 2020 BC PNP draw invites candidates in five streams of immigration. Those streams are divided into two categories, Express Entry BC and the Skills Immigration category.
The scores listed are based on the selection factors BC uses when applicants submit to their program, referred to as the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). SIRS is a points-based registration and application system that helps B.C. select the best workers to meet labour market needs and has a maximum point total of 200.
Applicants with a highly skilled job offer with a competitive salary will rank the highest, but work experience, level of education, and your language proficiency also play a role.
Express Entry BC Categories (EEBC) minimum SIRS score:
- Skilled Worker: 94
- International Graduate: 98

BC PNP Express Entry Categories
In order to receive an invitation through the Express Entry British Colombia (EEBC), candidates need to register under both the federal Express Entry system and B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). Candidates must also have a job offer from a BC employer.
BC PNP Skills Immigration Categories
The Skills immigration category is a great option for applicants who have a job offer from a BC employer and are unable to qualify for the federal Express Entry program because their job offer does not fall under skill level NOC 0, A, or B.
