On June 9th, 2021, Canada invited 940 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates to apply for permanent residence through the Express Entry system. This is the highest number of invitations issued in a draw specific to Provincial Nominees. The previous PNP specific draw on May 26th invited 500 candidates. This spike on PNP candidates in the pool shows a high volume of nominations issued in the past week and a half. As Federal Skilled Worker program draws are at a standstill, provinces may be turning to nominee programs to bring over skilled workers and fill labour market gaps.

The additional points essentially guarantee that an invitation to apply for permanent residence.
