Canadian government organization, FedNor, which aims to facilitate economic growth in Northern Ontario, will be providing nearly $500,000 in funding to assist in increasing the number of new Canadian immigrants settling in Sudbury, Ontario under the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot program (RNIP).
Since transitioning to a new expression of interest system at the end of April, Ontario has since held two draws, sending first rounds of invitations to qualifying candidates who submitted a profile to OINP’s pool of candidates.

On March 26, 2021, The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) issued 300 Notification of Interest letters through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. Unlike most Federal Express Entry draws with the CRS cut off upwards of 460, applicants selected under the Express Entry stream were required to have a CRS of at least 301.
On 16th February 2021, Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted its first draw of the year targeting applicants under the Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream with work experience in one of the six targeted tech occupations.
In an unusual move on the 16th February 2021, the province issued two draws, selecting in total 494 invitations.
As of February 12th 2021, all eligible international students can now complete 100% of their Canadian program remotely from their country of residence and still be eligible for a post graduate work permit. Prior to this, applicants could only complete 50% of a program remotely to still be entitled to a post graduate work permit.
In the biggest draw from any PNP so far this year, Saskatchewan issued 541 invitations to International Skilled Workers from the Express Entry or Occupations in Demand streams.

The province of British Columbia has held their biweekly PNP draw targeting those who qualify for the Tech Pilot program. This latest draw saw 74 applicants invited to submit an application for nomination to the province of British Columbia.
